CAA MCK platforms, for “Command Arms Accessories Micro Conversion Kits” are basically chassis-style platforms that enable you to convert a handgun into something like a carbine, or even a bit more compact like a PDW, with no modifications needed. But we are getting ahead of ourselves.
They are easy to configure, compatible with a wide range of handguns, utterly revolutionize the handling of the gun, and confer a wide range of benefits to shooters that adopt them. That being the case, here are 3 of the top benefits of CAA MCKs that make them worthwhile for nearly any shooter.
No Modifications Are Needed
One of the greatest selling points of a CAA MCK is that no modifications to the platform are necessary. If your handgun is compatible with the micro conversion kit, you don’t need to make any changes.
CAA MCK platforms are equipped with a latch that basically operates like a trapdoor. Open the door, slide the handgun in till it clicks into place, then close the door. Ensure that the charging handle engages, and you’re good to shoot.
Just be aware that, while it is easy to install and configure a CAA MCK, the zero will shift every time you remove and reinsert the handgun, so you will need to make accommodations for that if you are consistently removing and replacing the gun.
Expandability
Many handguns have effectively no attachment points. There are some like Glocks that have small sections of rails under the barrel, and some modern handgun slides feature a “combat cut” for optics of certain footprints, like red dot sights, but beyond that, handguns are generally nowhere near as expandable as platforms like sporting rifles.
Justifiably so. Sporting rifles are much larger and their very position necessitates that they be highly configurable to both the shooter and the situations, and part of this is expandability. Most handguns deliver value by being compact and loss of attachment points comes with the territory.
A CAA MCK offers the perfect middle ground. The resulting converted platform is still light, like a handgun or PDW, and handles more nimbly than a rifle, but still offers a number of attachment points.
Not only are there attachment points for shooting accessories built into the rifle, but they are configurable with lengths of Picatinny rail over the slide, and there are many CAA MCK accessories that have been developed for express compatibility with them.
Given the presence of the native attachment points, adding accessories like slings or optics such as red dots is remarkably easy, and on top of that, the number of CAA MCK accessories also makes it accessible to fully customize the platform.

Stability
We saved the best selling point of all: stability. This is the one thing that makes converting your handgun with a CAA MCK worth it even if nothing else on here is worth the effort or expense.
When you convert your handgun with an MCK, three things will happen. You will add static mass, you will increase the surface area of the platform by which you contact it, and you will add the ability to configure the platform with a stock or brace.
One by one, all of these put a lid on felt recoil, mitigate muzzle flip, and make it easier to control the handgun.
In the first case, increasing static mass directly counteracts felt recoil. In the second place, expanding the surface area means you will be better able to control the platform, and on top of that, being able to configure the platform with a stock or brace gives you a much better ability to control the gun when you fire.
Most shooters remark that they can shoot more accurately at extended ranges with a CAA MCK, in some instances out past 100 yards. Adding a brace or stock to an MCK and configuring it with an optic such as a red dot sight will considerably improve your ability to shoot accurately at those intermediate ranges.
