CAA MCK Accessories: Top By-Use

CAA MCK Accessories: Top By-Use

Posted by MCS GEAR UP on Oct 28th 2024

On its own, even when not equipped with CAA MCK accessories, a micro conversion kit can be a game changer.

First, an MCK will require no modifications from you, either permanent or temporary, and it will completely transform your handgun.

Converting a handgun with an MCK will improve handling, accuracy, recoil management, and much more.

Plus, the platform will be much more expandable with CAA MCK accessories.

We gathered some of the top micro conversion kit accessories and broke them down here, by best use.

Best for Economizing Time at the Range

If there’s one CAA MCK accessory that’s great for improving your range time, it’s a brass catcher. This is one we’ve covered before and even though it’s not a particularly exciting MCK accessory, it delivers an incredible amount of value for those that pay for range time.

Most ranges that charge a fee charge you by lane and time. Most also will not allow you to leave brass scattered all over the ground. Therefore, a brass catcher is a highly utilitarian accessory as it will help prevent you from wasting time at the end of your session cleaning up.

But there is an added bonus: an MCK brass catcher will also keep your spent shells off the ground, making it easier to clean them later - a big bonus for reloaders.

Best for Improving Manual Cycling

Not that micro conversion kits don’t offer good ergonomics for cycling (some of them do) but there are definitely ways that manual cycling can be improved.

In fact, the engineers at CAA saw that issue and took it head on with the development of their Gen 3 extended charging handle.

This charging handle can be positioned on either side of the handgun, and since it extends beyond the MCK chassis, allows for more rapid manual cycling, making it easier to charge the gun or clear a jam.

Best for Ensuring Weapon Retention

There’s one really good CAA MCK accessory for ensuring weapon retention, and it’s a one-point sling.

Not to be confused with two-point slings that are designed to make it easier to carry the platform, one-point slings are specifically engineered to prevent you from losing your MCK if you ever need to draw a sidearm.

You can buy the slings, hardware, or kits here. All of them provide you with an easy avenue for upgrading your MCK.

Basically, it’s like this: these minimalistic slings attach at one point to the MCK and prevent you from losing it if you ever drop it. If you experience a jam or run out of ammo and need to drop the MCK to draw a sidearm, a one-point sling will prevent you from losing it.

Best for Engaging Targets in the Dark

Have you ever heard the expression, “what you can’t see can kill you?” It is something that is unfortunately true.

Not being able to make a positive ID (PID) or a target is a separate issue that presents a serious problem in the dark.

Fortunately, our collection of CAA MCK accessories includes integral front flashlights equipped with Olight Baton WMLs. They are compact, affordable, and powerful, delivering 500 lumen outputs.

One of these MCK accessories can tip the scales in your favor if you ever experience an engagement in the dark.

Plus, having a spare light as a backup, attached to your MCK or not, is worth the investment.

Best for Improving Accuracy at Intermediate and Extended Ranges

Upgrading your handgun with an MCK is an improvement that will, in and of itself, enhance your ability to shoot accurately at intermediate and extended ranges.

But there are other upgrades you can make, and one of the best of them is a red dot sight for the MCK.

Consider a Crimson Trace Micro Red Dot Sight, specifically designed for use with micro conversion kits.

These MCK RDS feature 4 MOA red dots and 14 different illumination settings (7 for red and 7 for green). They also feature Pic rail mounts, battery life spans greater than a year, and multi-coated lenses that reduce reflections and glare.

They’re also tough - shock, dust, fog, impact and recoil-resistant.

Second-Best for Improving Accuracy

After a red dot sight for your MCK, the next best thing you can do on this front is add an MCK stock that will improve handling and accuracy.

Like a red dot sight, adding a stock to your MCK will improve recoil management, reduce muzzle flip, and help you stabilize the platform, so you can deliver faster, more accurate follow-up shots.
